February's Athlete of the Month!!

Congrats to Cedric Karp for being February's Athlete of the Month! Cedric joined Max Effort 4 months ago, attends the 8pm conditioning classes Monday Wednesday and Thursday nights. Cedric has lost over

15 lbs and hasn't been under 200 lbs in over a year! He never misses a class, and most importantly has improved his golf swing since starting on his fitness journey back in November! Congrats Cedric!

Read below to find out a little more about Cedric!

How were you introduced to Max Effort Fitness?

First through my wife Tara Karp, and then Steve Ford kept talking about how great it was for him.

What is your proudest accomplishment since being a member at MEF?

I have been able to witness my own improvements. The days I go up in weight on different exercises are reminders of how I have progressed past the struggles I faced in the first few weeks.

What is your biggest improvement since joining MEF? My range of motion and core strength. It's actually added 20+ yards to my golf swing.

What is your six month goal?

To continue to correct my weight and tone up.

What is your favorite exercise? Ring rows. They give you the ability to really push yourself. And then when you're worn out, with a small modification you can still be productive and get through the exercise.

What is your least favorite exercise?

Like I'm sure most people...I really force myself to get through burpees.

If you created a workout, what would it be?

A few rounds of 5 or 6 exercises that hit all the major muscle groups. Ring rows, sit ups, squats, jump rope, etc...

What is your Favorite cheat food?

M&M's.

What do you love most about Max Effort Fitness?

It's a toss up between two things. One, the group in the class I take. Everyone rallies around each other and there's a unique sense of camaraderie. Two, the feeling I have after each class. Being sweaty and worn out but knowing I just kicked butt for the last hour.
