Congrats to Jen Sponburgh for being Decembers Athlete of the Month

Congrats to Jen for being Decembers Athlete of the Month!! Jen comes to the 5am class every morning with a smile on her face and a laugh that is so infetious it could make even Oscar the grouch happy! Jen has competed in a few crossfit competitions and can do burpees faster then Rich Froning! (haha ok maybe not that fast but she is fast!!!) Jen has been working her butt off to improve her strength and to work on all her fitness goals! Keep up the great work Jen!!!

How were you introduced to Max Effort Fitness? >> When I found MEF (in August 2014), I had just left another gym and was looking for something that was more challenging and more personable. Some friends had told me about a new place that had just opened up in Drexel Hill so I went and checked it out. After my first class, I was hooked. Stephanie was so encouraging and really made me feel comfortable. I could tell she truly loved what she was doing and that she genuinely cared about her members. I knew that MEF was exactly what I was looking for and so I signed up right away! >> What is your proudest accomplishment since being a member at MEF? Getting my first handstand push up. When I first started doing handstands, I was so nervous and it took some time to overcome my fear of falling. When I banged out my first HSPU I was so excited! >> What is your biggest improvement since joining MEF? Although it's still a work in progress, my clean has gotten so much better from the time I started at MEF. The clean was a very frustrating movement for me for a long time but with help from my coaches, my form has gotten so much better. >>What is your six month goal? I want to be able to do a strict pull up and get an 85 lb snatch. Right now I can do a jumping pull up and my 1 RM snatch is 70 lbs so I have some work to do! >>What is your favorite exercise? Snatch!!!!!!! >> What is your least favorite exercise? >> Deadlift :( >> If you created a workout, what would it be? EMOM for 12 minutes

Can I say everything?!?! But seriously, the people that make up the amazing MEF community are what I love most about Max Effort Fitness and I am truly lucky and thankful to be a part of it.
